The cable cars are sooo slow! Huge line-ups meaning even though the ticket price is cheaper than other European countries, sometimes you stand in line for over 30 mins!! I spoke to a regular who lives locally who snow-boards and she said the maximum number of times she has made it up the mountain is only 7 times!! And that was on a slow day. This is a real shame as it could be good but their infrastructure is old. Their mentality is too, for example even ski instructors had to wait in line for 30’mins meaning someone paid them for a 1 hr but only received 30 mins tuition because they couldn’t even jump the line. All over the world ski instructors are given priority . Also, most of the cable cars are filled with non-skiers just going up the mountain. They fill them forcing the skiers who have paid lift passes to wait in line. Apparently, sometimes you can wait for 1 hr for the lift! Also, the grooming and maintenance is very poor. Shame, it could be amazing if they worked harder, put better lifts in and had better customer service. So, basically you hire all your gear and you only get a few runs up the mountain. Frustrating, very frustrating. They forget the skiers and snow-boarders will be repeat customers. The sight-see era will only go up and back once. Of course, if you have a good day skiing you will return the next day. Instead of 1 week pass we will only pay for 2 days as the value for money is not there at all... save up for Austria or France or Canada ...
