Altaussee is a great ski area with wonderful views of the Dachstein mountain. Good variety of runs mainly for intermediate skiers. A bit smaller than Dachstein West but the top area has some wonderful snow-sure ski runs and it almost feels like you are skiing off-piste. Good for families with a well run ski school and great food. We stayed in Bad Goisern which is about 20 mins away but there is easy access to this area and Dachstein West at Gosau/Russbach.
