Val Senales offers high altitude glacier skiing close to the Austrian border with few areas below the tree-line. Val Senales is a smallish resort offering year-round skiing, made famous when the iceman Ötzi was discovered on the Hauslabjoch. There are 35 kms of piste here with 20 marked ski trails suitable for all levels of ability. Val Senales has 11 lifts including 2 gondolas. The resort also has a terrain park. There are 20 kms of cross-country skiing at Val Senales and the area is able to supply a 35% snow-making facility. The nearest airport to Val Senales is at Bolzano.

Fantastic location with good weather. I come to Val Senales to ski every season and it's an absolute pleasure to ski down without stopping from 3200 to 2100 m, one of my favourite slopes. I remember skiing there in the late 70's. The glacier was much bigger but still today you ski within unique scenery. Avoid Val Senales with bad weather, wind can be very strong and lift could be closed. As well you will find top conditions until end of season beginning of May.
