Mount Buller this weekend on Saturday. Actually we were very disappointed with the overall atmosphere of the place. We went with a tour guide who technically should be able to park in the coach parking area. The response from the parking attendant was you must park in the other area which is general public parking. Why must they park in general parking despite being a tour?
Then we actually finally got on to the mountain to where there is supposed to be snow for people to have fun with. We found there is toboggan area, which you are not permitted to use unless you sign a medical waiver, which means they are not liable for any injuries. So, essentially, use at your own risk.
Then we thought maybe there's an area just for kids to play with snow. How wrong we were. It was only a little tiny area, less than one metre (specifically half a metre square) of fake snow, which had a lot of dirt in it and was so hard there is no way kids could really do anything with it unless an adult stomp on it to break it up because it was rock hard.
Then we went to try to get some food thinking it shouldn't be that difficult, surely. How wrong we were. We went to go get a burger from the burger shop and we all had to walk out because it literally was filled with smoke. You'd swear the place was on fire, but it wasn't it was simply because they didn't have any doors or windows open or any ventilation so that was the end of that one.
We tried one of the pubs what I have on site thinking we could get some food from there. The only thing we ended up getting was blasted with music so loud you'd almost swear you're at a rock concert so that was the end of that.
Then we went to one of the others which happens to be a Mexican food store. They need to have a big sign on the window: we do not take cash, card only. And then when we had a look the only thing they had available was chips, which was $16 ridiculous.
We tried another store where we ordered chips and a sausage roll, nothing too fancy and a small drink. We nearly fell over to find out it was literally $49.00 each 4 a small serving of chips that you could put in your hand it was that small and a sausage roll that was drier than the Sahara desert and a drink what was over 75% ice.
Then thinking well maybe we can go and use snow skis. Nope no way up even if you wanted to go to use snow skis you have to pay upwards of $100 per person just to get a chairlift as they will not allow you to walk to the top.
