Skied up at Luz for 4 days in Feb 2007... they had not had a lot of snow; about 70% open. Compact little resort with few facilities - the ski station is a cafeteria and a couple of hire shops next to a car park. Skiing I thought ok for size, suit beginner/ lazy intermediate. Couple of nice reddish black bits.
Charm really lies in skiing out of the Alps - a coffee on the slopes cost me 2E. People friendly, no queues, surrounding area beautiful. You can easily get to Bareges for more extensive skiing or round to Cauterets.
